The revision cycle is the iterative process of refining a calibration based on real-world data. It is the hallmark of professional custom tuning and the reason custom calibrations outperform generic files.
Typical cycle: initial calibration based on vehicle specification and goals, first drive with datalogging, log analysis and first revision, second drive and log, final refinement. Most calibrations reach optimal within 2-4 cycles.
Each revision addresses specific findings from the datalog: knock correction adjustments, boost target refinement, fuel mixture optimisation, throttle response tuning, and torque curve shaping.
