Custom Calibration Process

How the JB Remap custom calibration process works — from initial submission through datalogs, revisions, and final sign-off.

What Is a Custom Calibration?

A custom calibration goes beyond a standard stage file. It is written from scratch for your specific combination of hardware, fuel availability, and driving use-case — whether that is a track car with an upgraded turbo or a tow vehicle that needs a specific torque curve. Every map table is reviewed and adjusted individually.

The Datalog Process

After the initial file is flashed, you will capture a set of datalogs under defined conditions (typically a third-gear pull from 2,000 RPM to redline). These logs are sent back to our engineers, who analyse airflow, knock, fuel trims, and boost to identify where the calibration can be refined further.

Revision Rounds

Most custom calibrations are finalised within two to three revision rounds. Each round tightens the calibration closer to the limits of the hardware while maintaining safe margins. We communicate what we changed and why at every step so you understand exactly what is happening inside the ECU.

Final Sign-Off and Archiving

Once both parties are satisfied with the datalogs and driveability, the calibration is marked as final and archived. If you later add hardware or change fuel, we can use the archived file as a starting point for the next revision rather than beginning from scratch.
