Engine management is expected to come from the BMW DME 8.6 family; confirm the exact ECU hardware and software from the vehicle.
About the BMW 340i F30/F31/F34
The BMW 340i is the six-cylinder petrol model of the F30/F31/F34 3 Series, built as the F30 Sedan, the F31 Touring and the F34 Gran Turismo, with 340i and 340i xDrive versions offered according to body and market. It uses the B58B30M0, which BMW introduced in US-version 340i models from mid-July 2015.
The B58B30M0 is controlled by BMW DME 8.6, a different engine management platform from the one BMW used with the N55. Gearbox and drivetrain combinations were not the same for every body and market, so both the DME and the transmission are identified on the vehicle before a calibration is prepared.
For a 340i file request, send the production date, the market the car was originally supplied to, the current DME software, transmission type and drivetrain. Fuel grade, upgraded parts and any earlier calibration also help us choose the correct starting point.
