Torque Delivery on Diesel Platforms
BMW diesel engines produce their peak torque at low RPM, which makes them highly responsive to calibration changes in rail pressure and injection timing. A well-executed Stage 1 diesel file can add 40-80 Nm of mid-range torque while keeping the power delivery smooth and progressive. The emphasis is on driveability, not peak numbers.
Injection Strategy and Rail Pressure
Common-rail diesels rely on precise pilot, main, and post-injection events to control combustion noise and emissions. Tuning adjustments focus on main-injection quantity and timing to improve efficiency and power without introducing excessive combustion harshness. Rail-pressure limits are respected to protect injectors and the high-pressure fuel pump.
Emission-System Compliance
All JB Remap diesel calibrations are written to maintain full emission-system functionality — DPF regeneration cycles, AdBlue dosing on SCR-equipped models, and EGR operation remain active and within factory parameters. We do not offer DPF-delete, EGR-delete, or AdBlue-defeat solutions. Compliance with local emission regulations is non-negotiable.
Turbo and EGT Management
Variable-geometry turbos on BMW diesels are particularly sensitive to excessive exhaust-gas temperatures (EGT). Our calibrations include conservative EGT limiters that pull back fuelling when temperatures approach the safe ceiling. This protects the turbo, exhaust manifold, and downstream catalytic components under sustained high-load driving.
